Just Bento

Recently, I have tried to make my bento more exciting and delicious. Since I don’t have a Japanese mother to show me how, I have found the next best thing.

Ito Makiko writes a food blog called Just Bento. Her blog is full of colorful step-by-step photos of how to make a bento. She no longer lives in Japan, so her recipes can be made by anyone anywhere in the world.

I really like her humor and passion about Japanese food culture. She doesn’t take herself too seriously. She connects the seasons with the ingredients so to keep the bento fresh tasting. She also tells you how to save money and time. I like the ‘’timeline’’ feature the best. It tells you when to do the next step at what time in the cooking process.
