I recently read this article about proposed changes to maps and their symbols.

With the Tokyo Olympics fast-approaching, many government organizations are trying to make Japan a welcoming and easy to navigate place for the millions of tourists expected. This BBC article was very interesting because it talks about changes that some in Japan don't agree with.

What do you think? Should Japanese maps remove the swastikas symbol and replace it with a pagoda? Or do you think tourist should take the time to learn about Japanese history and what the symbol means? What about the other symbols?

I agree that the symbols for a post office and police station are a little confusing. However, I think the one for an onsen doesn't look like a bowl of hot miso soup:)
