News in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has been fairly calm recently, compared to the rest of the Middle East. I have not seen or even heard about any political unrest, except for some small demonstrations in the eastern part of the country, where there are more Shia Muslims. They do say that they are discriminated against to some extent. However, the security forces are extremely sophisticated here and I think it would be unlikely that any large-scale protests would happen. That is just my opinion and of course I could be wrong, but for the most part people seem to be content in Saudi Arabia, and the standard of living is quite high. As they say, as long as there are shopping malls...
