2015-09-04
What’s on your bucket list? My mother is in her eighties. Last month she accomplished something on her bucket list. She went zip lining in Colorado! Not everyone has a bucket list, but I think it is a fun idea. I have a lot of things on my bucket list. But I don’t plan to kick the bucket for a very long time!
IDIOMS to kick the bucket=(verb) to die [casual slang] I wonder how old I will be when I kick the bucket. I heard he kicked the bucket last week. ++this is casual slang! You will hear it in movies, but be careful using this phrase.
bucket list (noun)=a list of things you hope to do or accomplish before you die, often fun or challenging things This is often heard in casual conversations. You can use this phrase.
Conversation: Jerry: What’s on your bucket list? Karen: I’d like to fly in a helicopter and learn to speak Japanese. What’s on your bucket list? Jerry: I’d like to play the bagpipes well. And I’d like to go to Paris.
