My new life

2014-04-15

Greetings Mail Pal student, It's been a while since I last updated my blog.

I've been very busy moving to a new part of Chiba and starting a new job at a Buddhist yochien. We moved to a townhouse and it's wonderful to have more space for my very active kids to run around! We play hid-n-seek and even have a little garden area at our new place.

My son recently entered a new yochien and the ceremony was very interesting for me. The yochien is Buddhist and the ceremony was religious and different than the ordinary yochien he attended last year. The students spend a lot of time learning music and how to play instruments at this new school and they performed at the entrance ceremony. I was very proud of my son to sit still and give his full attention to his classmates during the ceremony, hard thing to do for a 4 year old! After the ceremony I told him we could go to lunch anywhere he wanted. He picked a hot dog from Costco, this made me laugh. He is truly a bi-cultural kid; traditional Buddhist ceremony in the morning and an American hot dog for lunch!

I hope I can make a lot of friends with the other mama's at his yochien over the next couple of years. This Friday is our first ensoku and I will take a homemade bento, wish me luck!
