A good book for a reading task would be 'Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry' by Mildred D. Taylor. Kindle版だとお得です。詳しくはAmazonサイトへ。
It's about racism in the USA in the 1930s. It is also a required text for British students. I think it is a good one to read now as many people are dealing with this topic, especially because of immigration.
